Italy's First Ever Black Minister Insulted By A Spectator

Cecile Kyenge
Integration Minister Cecile Kyenge, born in Democratic Republic of Congo, who is the first black minister in Italy has been facing steady insults since becoming minister in April; Here are Roberto Calderoli's, vice president of the senate - Italy's upper house remarks about her,
Roberto Calderoli
*"when I see images of Kyenge I cannot help think, even if I don't say that she is one, of a resemblance to an orangutan." *"she had done well to become a minister, but perhaps she should do it in her own country."
Another of such insults was the minister having a banana thrown at her during party rally speech by a spectator and shortly before the incident on Friday, as #*dailymail*, members of the right-wing Forza Nuova group left mannequins covered in fake blood at the site of the rally in Cervia, Central Italy, in protest against Kyenge's proposal to make anyone born on Italian soil a citizen.
Meanwhile, Kyenge's party members and some politicians have lambasted Calderoli over such a comment with some calling for his resignation as senate vice president. Italy's Prime Minister had also responded in this manner, *"the comments were unacceptable. They go beyond all limits. Full solidarity and support to Cecile. Forward with your and our work."*
