Gay Marriage: 'I'd Rather Go To Hell Than Worship A Homophobic God.'

Archbishop Desmond Tutu
Hmm! Interesting strong words of the South African Nobel peace laureate  Archbishop Desmond Tutu, concerning the much frenzied debate about legalizing gay marriage around the globe. The 81-year-old Archbishop, speaking at the launch of the UN's first campaign to promote gay rights emphasized, *as dailymail*, *"I'd rather go to hell than worship a homophobic God." *"I am as passionate about this campaign as I ever was about apartheid. For me, it is the same level." *I would refuse to go to a homophobic heaven. No, I would say sorry, I mean I would much rather go to the other place." *"I would not worship a God who is homophobic and that is how deeply I feel about this." Daddy Tutu, tell them, *even God in Heaven supports you and everyone who is against this nonsense*

Cholera Epidemic Spreads In Ogun State

According to National Mirror, following the reported outbreak of an alleged cholera epidemic in two local government areas of Ogun State, private and public hospitals across the Abeokuta metropolis have witnessed an increase in the number of patients on admission for the decease. This is just as the state government confirmed the spread of the disease to Odeda and Owode Obafemi local government areas in addition to the already identified Abeokuta North and South local government areas. Death toll in what the state government described as “unhygienic condition of the affected areas” has also continued to rise, with causalities cutting across age and gender. Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Olaokun Soyinka confirmed that 104 cases were already listed in what he described as “gastroenteritis” disease in Abeokuta South, especially in Ijaye and Adedotun in Abeokuta North local governments, asserting that only three deaths have been recorded in the epidemic, which he stressed was not related to cholera.

ASUU Strike: FG, ASUU Meeting Continues Next Week...

Nigerian Minister of Education
After their three-hour closed-door meeting held at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation yesterday, the two parties arrived to a nearly conclusive end in the negotiation as five out their seven prayers have been answered.
The Chairman, University Needs Implementation Committee, Gabriel Suswam said, “we agreed on all major issues except the issues of funding of the Universities or rather intervention and then the allowance of the University Lecturers. We believe that by next week the other issues would be resolved. Then, ASUU would probably call off the strike.”  “We are involving all the agencies that fund the universities - the CBN and all others. As soon as the two issues are resolved, we believe that the strike would be called off."   “The issues of retirement age, setting up a pension administrator, setting up of budget monitoring unit, persuading companies to set up research centres, among others, have been agreed on” .    “We agreed that all the funding agencies would meet on Thursday and we chart a way forward.”
The Guardian reported that, although the Chairman of ASUU refused to speak to the press in an obvious show of dissatisfaction, a source within ASUU said they did not expect the Federal Government to bring all the cards on the table at once so they are still keeping their fingers crossed for next week when their demands would be exhaustively tackled. “For now, the strike continues indefinitely,” the source said.
