Right From The Heart: Ever Heard The Gospel?

"To give His people the knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of their sins..." - Luke 1:77

If you're not a Christian, but you've been around Christians, you've probably heard the term "gospel." But, what does it mean? Well, the gospel is the singularly most important communication of God to man. In Jesus, who is God the Son, we have the revelation of God’s love and sacrifice that saves us from God's righteous judgment upon sinners.

So, what does that really mean to you? It means God loves you. He has a purpose for your life. He wants you to have a meaningful life. Everybody likes the sound of that!

Unfortunately, we often have a problem personally experiencing God's love, because we're separated from God due to the sin in our lives. "Sin" is missing the mark of God's best for our life. It's living life our way versus God's way. The solution is Jesus. He died for our sins. He rose from the dead, proving He is God. He is the way to God.

This calls for a decision to believe Jesus is who He says He is, and to trust Christ alone for salvation and abundant life.

That's it. That's the gospel. Do you believe it? The gospel is the good news of salvation. I hope you'll believe it and receive it.

Right From The Heart: No Need To Be Afraid

"For you light my lamp; the Lord my God illumines my darkness." - Psalm 18:28

The fear of the dark is a common fear among children and, to a varying degree, of adults. Fear of the dark is usually not fear of the darkness itself, but fear of possible or imagined dangers concealed by darkness. Here's an example:

She had been driven crazy by her energetic children and just needed to get away, if even for just a moment. She ran upstairs to her daughter's bedroom and closed the closet door behind her. And there, in the solitude of the closet she cleansed her mind by letting out a long, loud scream. She immediately felt better and opened the door to leave. Blocking her exit, with eyes the size of saucers, were her three children. Her four-year-old daughter spoke first: "Mommy, I told you there were monsters in there."

While that is a humorous moment, the truth is, children and adults fear the dark, the unknown, for the same reason: our fears are intensified when we cannot see what is really before us. Listen to these words from the Psalmist: "Where can I go from Your spirit? Where can I flee Your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there. If I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast."

Like a loving father, God promises us He'll always be with us. He's there to offer us His hand in life's darkest hours. He'll carry us through the darkness and lead us where we need to go. He'll always be with us. Never be afraid, for He is always there.

DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING,...

CAST ALL YOUR ANXIETY ON HIM BECAUSE HE CARES FOR

    YOU.
                                ( 1 PETER 5:7 *NIV )

  Dear Brethren,
We are often filled with worry and anxiety in the fast paced
World of ours today.  When you think about it, what is worry but
  the opposite of faith anyway!

After all Jesus Christ said, "I TELL YOU, DO NOT WORRY
ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT YOU WILL EAT OR DRINK; OR
ABOUT YOUR BODY, WHAT YOU WILL WEAR.  IS NOT LIFE
MORE IMPORTANT THAN FOOD, AND THE BODY MORE
IMPORTANT THAN CLOTHES?  LOOK AT THE BIRDS OF THE
AIR; THEY DO NOT SOW OR REAP OR STORE AWAY IN
BARNS, AND YET YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER FEEDS THEM.
AND WHY DO YOU WORRY ABOUT CLOTHES?  SEE HOW
THE LILIES OF THE FIELD GROW.  THEY DO NOT LABOR
OR SPIN.  YET I TELL YOU THAT NOT EVEN SOLOMON IN
ALL HIS SPLENDOR WAS DRESSED LIKE ONE OF THESE."
  ( MATTHEW 6:25-26; & 28-29 )

Therefore, know that God is always with you, and there
is no reason to worry about what might happen.  After all it is
written; DO NOT WORRY ABOUT TOMORROW, FOR
TOMORROW WILL WORRY ABOUT ITSELF.  EACH DAY
HAS ENOUGH TROUBLE OF ITS OWN.  ( MATTHEW 6:34 )

So instead; DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING,
BUT IN EVERYTHING, BY PRAYER AND PETITION, WITH
THANKSGIVING, PRESENT YOUR REQUESTS TO GOD.
And; LET THE PEACE OF CHRIST RULE IN YOUR HEARTS,
SINCE AS MEMBERS OF ONE BODY YOU WERE CALLED
TO PEACE.  AND BE THANKFUL.  Amen.
            ( PHILIPPIANS 4:6 )  &  ( COLOSSIANS 3:15 )

GOD Did The Very First Heart Transplant...

I WILL GIVE YOU A NEW HEART AND PUT A NEW SPIRIT
WITHIN YOU; I WILL TAKE THE HEART OF STONE OUT
OF YOUR FLESH AND GIVE YOU A NEW HEART OF
FLESH.  I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT WITHIN YOU AND CAUSE
YOU TO WALK IN MY STATUTES, AND YOU WILL KEEP
  MY JUDGMENTS AND DO THEM.
                      ( EZEKIEL 36:26-27 *NKJV )

  Dear Brethren
Now this verse proves that GOD did the very first
heart transplant.  In fact HE has been doing transplants for
thousands of years!  Even better than that, the heart that
GOD gives to us is filled with the fruit of the spirit!  And
THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS LOVE, JOY, PEACE,
  PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS FAITHFULNESS,
  GENTLENESS AND SELF-CONTROL.
  ( GALATIANS 5:22 )

Remember when you invited GOD into your life?.
Think about how hard your life was before that day!  Also
think about how your life has changed for the better since
  then!

Now just in case you haven't received that new heart yet,
today would be a great day to ask GOD for it!  No
appointment is needed, and HE won't leave you in the waiting
room for two hours, reading last years magazines either!
By the way you won't need health Insurance to pay for it
because it's a free gift from GOD as well.

So why not ask GOD for that new heart today, if you
haven't already?  For HE has said: "THEN I WILL GIVE
THEM ONE HEART, AND I WILL PUT A NEW SPIRIT
WITHIN THEM, AND TAKE THE STONY HEART OUT OF
THEIR FLESH, AND GIVE THEM A HEART OF FLESH,
THAT THEY MAY WALK IN MY STATUTES AND KEEP
MY JUDGMENTS AND DO THEM; AND THEY SHALL BE
MY PEOPLE, AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD."
  ( EZEKIEL 11:19 )

Now, may you: GROW IN THE GRACE AND
KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS
CHRIST.  TO HIM BE GLORY BOTH NOW AND
  FOREVER!  AMEN.                                ( 2 PETER 3:18 )

Right From The Heart: Angry Much?

"Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools." - Ecclesiastes 7:9

We all get angry. We're human, after all. But, do you ever feel your anger is justified? Have you ever used the term "righteous anger?" The phrase is often used when someone has wronged us so unjustly that we say, "I have every right to be angry." And then to justify our outburst, we'll add, "Jesus showed righteous anger, didn't He?"

Well, yes, He did. But it is important to notice what triggered His righteous anger. Once was when He entered the temple and found it had been turned into a place for taking advantage of the poor. Jesus was furious about it because God was not being respected. Jesus also got angry whenever people were taken advantage of, mistreated, or were shown contempt. And Jesus became indignant when the disciples would not allow children to visit with Him. These are all displays of righteous anger.

But understand this: Jesus only became angry when others were mistreated. Jesus never got angry when HE was treated unjustly. So, how did He react when He was the target of injustice? Look at what Jesus did when He was unfairly sentenced to death, the ultimate act of personal injustice.

He said, "Father, forgive them."

Right From The Heart: Choose To Obey God!

"...but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'" - Genesis 3:3

Imagine this: a man wakes up - the first man - and he sees a world full of beauty, glory, savory fruits and animals. All were living in harmony with one another and with God.

Fast forward. God had put one tree in the middle of the garden and told Adam that he must not eat from it. Ever wonder why?

Well, the reason is very simple. God loves us and He created us to have fellowship with Him and choose to follow His commands. There is not true love in a relationship unless we are free to reject that love. God gave man a free will to decide if we love Him enough to trust Him, and trust Him enough to obey Him. To love God is to obey Him. It’s a choice. If we have no choice, we have no opportunity to love. Instead, we’re robots or puppets.

Convicted Murderers Who Escaped From A Florida Prison By Using Forged Release Papers...

Two convicted murderers who escaped from a Florida prison by using forged release papers "knew their days were numbered" upon surrendering to police at a Panama City hotel, a law enforcement official said. Joseph Jenkins and Charles Walker were apprehended without incident at the Coconut Grove Motor Inn in Panama City at approximately 6:40 p.m. Saturday, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said. "They came out with their hands up in the air," U.S. Marshals Service Chief Inspector Frank Chiumento told ABC News. "They knew when they saw it on the news, their scheme was uncovered."
Shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday, about 20 members of the task force surrounded the hotel and told Jenkins and Walker to come out. About a minute later, both men came out with their hands in the air and were taken into custody without incident. When the two convicted killers emerged from room 227, where they had been holed up since Wednesday, they told officials "they were relieved that it was over," Chiumento said. Both men were then taken to the Bay County Jail, where they await extradition, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Today the two inmates will make their first appearances in court. While the manhunt for the escapees was on a national scale, law enforcement officials said they had information that led them to believe the men were hiding out in central Florida. An interview with an associate helped pinpoint Jenkins' and Walker's whereabouts, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said. The recapture of the two men came just hours after family members of the two held a news conference to plead with them to surrender.
Jenkins was released on Sept. 27 from the Franklin Correctional Institution. On Oct. 8, Walker was released from the same facility, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office. Both releases came as a result of forged documents ordering reduced sentences for the two. It was not known whether the men -- who were serving time for separate crimes -- worked together to escape the prison, but authorities were investigating whether they got help from someone to forge the paperwork necessary to be released. Jenkins, 34, was in jail on a 1998 first-degree murder conviction. He killed a father of six. Charles Walker, also 34, was serving a life sentence for a second-degree murder. He shot a 23-year-old man in 1999. Just three days after their respective releases, both men brazenly went to the corrections department to register as ex-felons, officials said.
"They come to the booking lobby where they are finger printed and a Voluntary Criminal Registrant form is filled out," a spokeswoman for the corrections department told ABC News in an email. The sheriff's deputy in the lobby checks for wants and warrants and if there are none, the form is completed and taken to the sheriff's office. Officials do not believe there is video from when Jenkins and Walker each registered because that area does not have cameras. At their news conference Saturday afternoon, the two men's families said they believed at first that everything was legitimate about them getting out of prison early, because they had been contacted by the prison that their relatives were scheduled for immediate emergency release. Walker's mother, Lillie Danzy, fought back tears as she begged her son to stop evading officials. "We love you. We believe in you. We want you to surrender yourself to someone you trust who will bring you back in safely," she said. "I know who you are, you know who you are. I just want you home safely soon. Please come home."
The judge whose name is on the forged documents is Belvin Perry, Orange County chief judge, who presided over the Casey Anthony case. The judge's signature was forged in the paperwork calling for reduced sentences for the convicted killers. Perry told ABC News he believes the killers had help outside the prison. "They cut and pasted my signature and affixed it to the order," he said. "They had to have outside help, because in one of those documents, it was actually filed here in the courthouse." [Exclusively reported by http://gma.yahoo.com]

Right From The Heart: These Riches Are Eternal

"Godliness is actually a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment." - 1 Timothy 6:6

Would you like to be rich? I guess we all would, but let's look at God's definition of "rich." God's Word says if you really want to be rich from a lasting perspective, you want to live a Godly life. Now, don't make the mistake of feeling that you can live a Godly life by trying to be religious, or by trying to be good, or by trying to do all these things you're supposed to do in church. Realize that godliness is a byproduct of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Godliness comes out of growing closer to Christ, so that His Spirit begins to guide and convict us through the Word of God to live a life that is more and more pleasing to Him—to live a life walking with Him.

Godliness is to be our primary goal when it comes to thinking about money and riches. There's no lasting significance in money, but there is lasting significance in Godliness. God says something like this, "Look, when you live a life of Godliness, this is a life of great gain." There's no ultimate meaning in money, but there is ultimate meaning in having a Godly walk with the Lord. You can never lose this. Oh, yes, you can stray from God, but you never lose that relationship with God. It's eternal! Unlike financial riches, your relationship with God is eternal. It goes beyond the grave, beyond death.

Right From The Heart: What Are Your Conclusions?

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the fullest." - John 10:10

You may have read this before, but as I was reviewing some of my past devotions, I was once again astounded the statistics it contains.

Now, I'm not very good with statistics, but I have a copy of the results of a survey done by LifeWay Research. They polled 1402 "unchurched" adults (defined as people not going to church in the last six months) and found some interesting responses. What conclusions do you draw from these responses?

71% think believing in Jesus makes a positive difference in a person's life.
72% believe that God actually exists.
72% say the church is full of hypocrites.
78% say they would be willing to listen to somebody tell them about Christianity.
79% say Christianity today is more about organized religion than about loving people.
86% say they believe they can have a good relationship with God without belonging to a church.

Arthur Farnsley, administrator of the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion, interprets it this way, "Is there a workshop for churches in being less annoying, less hypocritical?"

Key thought: If Jesus is so attractive to the majority of the "unchurched," how can the church become more and more like Jesus?

Hint = It begins with you and me.

JUDGE NOT, AND YOU SHALL NOT BE JUDGED...

JUDGE NOT, AND YOU SHALL NOT BE JUDGED. CONDEMN
NOT, AND YOU SHALL NOT BE CONDEMNED.  FORGIVE,
  AND YOU WILL BE FORGIVEN.
                                ( LUKE 6:37 *NKJV )

  Dear Brethren,
As Children of God we are not to judge each other, but to
love each other and forgive each other just as our  Heavenly
Father has forgiven us.  For it is written; LET ALL BITTERNESS,
WRATH, ANGER, CLAMOR, AND EVIL SPEAKING BE PUT
AWAY FROM YOU, WITH ALL MALICE.  AND BE KIND TO
ONE ANOTHER, TENDER HEARTED, FORGIVING ONE
ANOTHER, EVEN AS GOD IN CHRIST FORGAVE YOU.
( EPHESIANS 4:31-32 )  Now this is Jesus Christ's law of
forgiveness as found in the Gospels
  [ see MATTHEW 6:14-15; & 18:35 ]

Our Savior Jesus Christ also said; WHENEVER YOU
STAND PRAYING, IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST
ANYONE, FORGIVE HIM, THAT YOUR FATHER IN
HEAVEN MAY ALSO FORGIVE YOU YOUR
TRESPASSES.  BUT IF YOU DO NOT FORGIVE,
NEITHER WILL YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN FORGIVE
  YOUR TRESPASSES.  ( MARK 11:25-26 )

So, never let anger with another control your
thinking and dominate your mind.  For anger often turns to
vengeance, and remember God said; VENGEANCE IS
MINE; I WILL REPAY, SAYS THE LORD. (ROMANS 12:19)
THEREFORE, AS THE ELECT OF GOD, HOLY AND
BELOVED, PUT ON TENDER MERCIES, KINDNESS,
  HUMILITY,  MEEKNESS, LONG-SUFFERING; BEARING
WITH ONE ANOTHER, AND FORGIVING ONE ANOTHER,
  IF ANYONE HAS A COMPLAINT AGAINST ANOTHER;
EVEN AS CHRIST FORGAVE YOU, SO YOU MUST DO.
BUT ABOVE ALL THINGS PUT ON LOVE, WHICH IS THE
  BOND OF PERFECTION.    Amen.
  ( COLOSSIANS 3:12-14 )

Wow! Fearless London Traffic Warden Places Ticket On Hillary Clinton's Mercedes

Despite FIVE security agents ordering him (Traffic warden) to leave, yet the Bloody-minded London traffic warden defies them (furious secret service agents) to give Hillary Clinton a ticket. Clinton was attending an event at Chatham House to pick up an award when she was given a £80 fine for failing to buy a ticket while parked in £3.30/hour bay. Photographer claims he saw one agent flashing his badge to warden and the Councillor responded: 'We have to be fair to everyone, regardless of their status.'

Grace of God and what it means...

TO EACH ONE OF US GRACE WAS GIVEN ACCORDING
TO THE MEASURE OF CHRIST'S GIFT.
                        ( EPHESIANS 4:7 *NKJV )

  Dear Brethren,
We have all heard the Hymn "Amazing Grace,"
but did you ever wonder what the word "grace" meant
in the Bible?  Well "grace" in the New Testament is the
Greek word [charis] which means undeserved
acceptance or favor, as well as, love received from
  another.

Now let us look at the Grace of God and what it means
to each one of us.  It is written; FOR BY GRACE YOU
HAVE BEEN SAVED THROUGH FAITH, AND THAT NOT
OF YOURSELVES; IT IS A GIFT OF GOD.
  ( EPHESIANS 2:8 )

Also the same Grace protects us, comforts us, and
guides us as well, so; LET US THEREFORE COME
BOLDLY TO THE THRONE OF GRACE, THAT WE MAY
OBTAIN MERCY AND FIND GRACE TO HELP IN TIME
  OF NEED. ( HEBREWS 4:16 )

      Further, God's Great Love comes to us through His;
Grace; AND WE HAVE KNOWN AND BELIEVED THE
LOVE THAT GOD HAS FOR US.  GOD IS LOVE, AND
HE WHO ABIDES IN LOVE ABIDES IN GOD, AND
GOD IN HIM.  For after all; WE LOVE HIM BECAUSE
  HE FIRST LOVED US.  ( 1 JOHN 4:16 & 19 )

So, my prayer for you is to; GROW IN THE
GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD AND
SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.  TO HIM BE THE GLORY
  BOTH NOW AND FOREVER.  AMEN
  ( 2 PETER 3:18 )

  With My Love & Prayers,
        your servant Allen
